  • Information Dissemination, a popular maritime security blog, notes the Russian agreement to help rebuild the port at Cam Ranh Bay in Vietnam, and has some ideas about how this plays into the regional security dynamic and U.S. strategy.
  • We talked a lot last week about the White House’s failure to reach a deal on the U.S.-Korea Free Trade Agreement (KORUS). The news reached even unto the domestic politics blogs, as the National Review Online’s Reihan Salam also noted the development, citing a post by American Enterprise Institute’s Phil Levy.
  • There was no shortage of analysis of President Barack Obama’s speech at the University of Indonesia. The Atlantic‘s James Fallows, who spent much time in Malaysia in the 1990s, was impressed by the President’s distinctly Indonesian use of rolled Rs in his pronunciation of Indonesian words.
